SpaceX and NASA counting down to launch of new space station crew

A rocket and capsule built by SpaceX company will carry crew members to the International Space Station later yesterday.

The Crew1 mission is scheduled to launch from the Kennedy Space Center in Florida.

Four astronauts 3 from NASA(National Aeronautics and Space Administration) and one from the Japanese space agency JAXA  will be sitting inside a SpaceX Crew Dragon capsule, boosted to orbit on top of a Falcon 9 rocket.

The mission is known as Crew1, and the astronauts named their capsule Resilience.

They are headed to the International Space Station for a 6 month stay.

This is the first of what NASA(National Aeronautics and Space Administration) calls “operational” flights of the Crew Dragon.
