Toxic air in New Delhi after Diwali

The overall air pollution of the New Delhi City has shot up to about eight times the safe limit following Diwali.

The air quality which was already in the severe category further worsened today morning.
This follows the Delhiites on Diwali night having violated a ban on lighting firecrackers.

Several other cities of north India also were in the ‘severe’ category of air pollution and many were even worse than New Delhi.
