500 monks chant Seth Pirith at Mirisawetiya Stupa

500 Buddhist monks chanted Seth Pirith at the sacred Anuradhapura Mirisawetiya Stupa yesterday and invoked blessings on H.E. president Mr. Gotabaya Rajapaksa, prime minister Mr. Mahinda Rajapaksa, the country and citizens.

It was organized to seek blessings against the Coronavirus(COVID-19) pandemic and to mark the president’s completion of one year in office and to mark the birthday of the prime minister, says the president’s media division(PMD).

Participating in the Pirith Chanting were Buddhist monks from various parts of the country on the advice of chief incumbent of Atamasthana Ven. Pallegama Sirinivasa Thera.
