Georgia wins Junior MasterChef Australia for Sri lankan curry

Dubbed by the United Kingdom‘s “Guardian” newspaper as “an 11 year old dynamo with a passion for her grandma’s Sri lankan curries” Georgia emerged the winner of this year’s Junior Masterchef Australia.

Beating off stiff competition from 13 other young cooks, Georgia continued to wow the judges each week as she made her way to the Junior Masterchef Australia Grand finale which was aired on Network 10 on Monday night.

Proud of her Sri lankan heritage, Georgia cooked a cashew curry, pork curry, eggplant ccurry, plus yellow rice, pappadums and cucumber raita for her main.

Her dessert, which she named ‘Tropical Mess’ had five elements:  toasted coconut ice cream, brown bread crumb, Davidson plum pearls, Davidson plum meringues and a lemongrass granita.
