Sri lanka’s Coronavirus death toll revised to 21

Sri lanka’s Coronavirus death toll revised to 21

The Director General of the Government Information Department Sri lanka said that the 22nd death reported as a Coronavirus(COVID-19) fatality has been confirmed as not being related to Coronavirus(COVID-19).

Therefore, the total number of deaths remain at 21.

On October 31, a 27 years old male suicide victim died on admission to the Panadura Base Hospital. A PCR test carried out during the post mortem had determined that the deceased had been infected with Coronavirus(COVID-19).

Subsequently, the Epidemiology Unit declared his death the 22nd Coronavirus(COVID-19) death in Sri lanka, today morning.

However, as the infection had no part in the cause of death, it has been decided not to count his death as a Coronavirus(COVID-19).
