Peliyagoda and Minuwangoda COVID-19 cluster tops 5000 cases

Sri lanka’s Coronavirus(COVID-19) figures surged yet again as 293 more persons were tested positive for the Coronavirus(COVID-19) today .

Among them are 291 close contacts of previously identified patients and 02 persons who are currently at quarantine centres.

Thereby, the total number of positive cases registered by the Peliyagoda and Minuwangoda cluster hit 5232.

With the new development, Sri lanka has confirmed 8,706 novel Coronavirus(COVID-19) infections to date.

According to statistics, 4043 of the confirmed patients have made complete recoveries from the Coronavirus(COVID-19).

The Epidemiology Unit says 4646 active cases are still receiving medical treatment at selected hospitals across the island.

Coronavirus(COVID-19) death toll meanwhile went up to 19 earlier today, as three infected persons including a 19 year old fell victim to the Coronavirus(COVID-19).
