Another fourty two tested positive for COVID-19

Another 42 from Minuwangoda Brandix cluster tested positive for Coronavirus(COVID-19) Among them 22 are from quarantine centres & 20 are close contacts.

The new development came after 42 more persons linked to the cluster were tested positive for the Coronavirus(COVID-19).

Army Commander Lieutenant General Shavendra Silva said 22 of the fresh cases are employees Brandix apparel company and their contacts who are currently at quarantine centres.

The remaining 20 have been identified as close contacts of the apparel factory staffers.

Thereby, the total number of novel Coronavirus(COVID-19) cases registered by the Minuwangoda cluster increased to 2,014.

In the meantime, 06 individuals who arrived from foreign countries were also confirmed to have contracted the Coronavirus(COVID-19).

According to the Department of Government Information Sri lanka, Sri lanka has reported 121 positive cases so far today.

This brings the total number of Coronavirus(COVID-19) infections confirmed in the country to 5,475. Statistics revealed that 2,067 of them are currently under medical care at selected hospitals.

Sri lanka’s novel Coronavirus(COVID-19) recuperations count meanwhile stands at 3,395.
